Live Cams and Swedish Law

Since 1 July 2025, the Swedish Sex Purchase Act (sexköpslagen) prohibits the purchase of sexual acts at a distance, including live cam shows. This means it is illegal for a person in Sweden to pay for sexual performances via webcam.
What does this mean in practice?
- Viewing free public cam shows is generally not affected by the purchase ban.
- Paying for private shows, tips with sexual requests, or any form of paid sexual interaction is prohibited for buyers in Sweden.
- Platforms and models may still operate, but Swedish residents risk legal consequences for purchasing.
- The law targets the buyer, not the performer in most cases.
